Community Resources

If you wish to become a partnering agency or sponsor, please call 816-785-8391. The 99 would love to include your business information on our website to further assist in advocating for our clients.

Community Impact:

From donations received we were able to assist a DV survivor in rebuilding her and her children’s lives. After working hard to provide a safe and healthy environment for her children, she found herself struggling and needed assistance meeting basic needs. With the support of our community, we were able to satisfy those needs! A local child is now filled with happiness and feeling much more confident in herself and her surrounds. She stated, “I can’t wait to sleep comfortably in my new bed and have my friends over!”. We want to thank our community for all of the donations made that assisted in making this dream come true.

The 99 aims to offer many volunteer opportunities. While the 99 wishes to provide assistance with rent, utilities, and other relocation expenses we understand that placing a family in an empty apartment will only discourage the victims and cause them to consider returning to their previous situations. The 99 accepts donations of furniture, household goods, clothing, food, diapers, toys, etc. to ensure our clients are setup for success. Our volunteer opportunities could include picking these items up from the community, sorting donated items, and delivering these items to families in need. Upon completion of Volunteer Training, volunteers can work directly with clients and assist in the various programs that The 99 aims to provide. This could include but is not limited to directly working with clients within the shelter or indirectly working with clients in the community. The 99 wishes to recruit volunteers for the purpose of providing childcare, working our crisis hotline, supporting fundraisers, bringing community awareness, children’s activity leaders, support group assistance, aiding in moving clients to their new homes, and holiday support (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc.).
